Datatech experts took part in the «Data Quality — 2023» conference
The conference took place in Moscow on February 16th. Datatech team was invited to share its expertise with the IT community and large businesses. Leonid Shumskiy, Head of Department for Special Projects at Datatech, presented a detailed report where he talked about our methods for developing large-scale corporate databases.
Leonid highlighted one of the key problems for the entire industry, which is localized development. This complicates using Jira, Git and other common tools for creating corporate databases. At the same time the project artifact of any database contains unique set of requirements for data quality. In essence, high data quality is ensured when all artifacts are interrelated and all requirements across all development stages are met.
To achieve this, Datatech team developed a special data management methodology which contains business glossary, data catalog and a system for quality monitoring and accounting. Leonid presented our approach at the conference and walked the audience through all 5 stages of data quality monitoring, from data profiling to unified report creation.
The “Data Quality 2023” conference is the main Russian event dedicated to data quality management. This year the conference took place for the 4th time and will focus on some challenges that have emerged over the last 12 months. The participants shared best data management practices and discussed new solutions. The conference traditionally plays a role of a public platform that helps experts form a collective point of view on relevant challenges and ways to overcome them.
